Can poor Oral Hygiene cause cancer?

 


Cancer cells are the cells which rapidly grow in the body and create abnormal conditions over a period of time. Poor oral hygiene leads to the oral cancer. Over usage of alcohol and other harmful drugs which include chewing mechanism and leftover without cleanliness leads to the generate cancer cells in mouth. Oral cancers are classified into three different areas lips, inside the mouth, and the tongue.

Non brushing of teeth and improper hygiene maintenance of mouth leads to the development of oral cancer. Dental cavities and Gums issues arise when there is no proper cleaning of teeth. Oral cancer in women leads to the lung cancer. Excess usage of tobacco, and harmful drugs and alcohol consumption may lead to the damage of oral cavities and improper cleanliness may lead to oral cancer. Excessive sun exposure to your lips and HPV virus and weak immune system which reduces the fightening capacity with bacteria and germs may also lead to the oral cancer.

As, Prevention is better than cure, there are many preventive methods for treatment of oral cancers. Tobacco usage leads to many cancers where preventing the excess usage of alcohol and other tobacco products may decrease the cause of oral cancers and helps to improve the oral cavity hygiene and healthy hygiene of mouth. Surgeries for mouth cancer include radiotherapy, chemotherapy, Radiation therapy, Immunotherapy, Targeted therapy. If the cancer has larger spread it may lead to major surgeries of neck and throat.
